My name is Ms. Lisa Marples, and I have the pleasure of being the Grad Coordinator for this year's grad. I am very excited to be working with this group of Grade 12s! I will be sending emails periodically throughout the year, and encourage you to continue to check here for updates as well.
If you have not been receiving any email updates from me, or your child is unable to access the 'CLP GRAD 2024' Google Classroom page, please email me as soon as possible so we can rectify that error.

1. ENDING TODAY: PROM TICKETS ON SALE:
Any grade 12s in good standing (and that do not have any unpaid school fees, which also includes library fees) would have seen the option to purchase a prom ticket ($75) added to their School Cash Online account on May 6. If a ticket purchase option did not appear, it’s likely there were unpaid fees that needed to be resolved first. If you have any questions regarding unpaid fees, please contact Mrs. Polson in the office or Mrs. Zaufenberger in the library ASAP!
NOTE: If, for some reason, you intend to go to prom but were unable to purchase a ticket during the sales window this month, please email Ms. Marples ASAP to coordinate purchasing one prior to June 1!
2. DUE MAY 26: GRAD WRITE UPS:
Grad write ups are the blurbs that will be read as grads walk up to receive their certificates during the Convocation ceremony. There is a Google Form on the ‘CLP GRAD 2024’ Google Classroom page that you must use to submit one. It is due May 26, which is THIS SUNDAY.
Realistically, the write up should only be about 3 sentences or so. Make sure you get this done! If you have any questions, please connect with Ms. Marples ASAP.
3. DUE MAY 28: PROM- DIETARY NEEDS INFO:
If you intend to go to prom (regardless of whether or not you have currently purchased a ticket), please complete the Google Form in the ‘CLP GRAD 2024’ Google Classroom that relates to dietary restrictions. Everyone who plans to attend prom MUST complete this form by no later than May 28, which is NEXT WEDNESDAY.
4. DUE MAY 30: PROM SLIDESHOW - PHOTOS NEEDED:
As of earlier this month, fewer than half of the grads had submitted photos to be included in the slideshow! Tara King is a grad parent and teacher in SD23, and needs your help putting together the Grad slideshow! As soon as you are able, please send your photos 10-12 photos of your child to [email protected] with your child's first and last name in the subject line.
Submitted photos can include: baby, toddler, early childhood, young teen, and current photos. If you have one of them "graduating from Kindergarten/daycare" please include that! Since this is a school-sanctioned event, the photos need to be appropriate (no naked bottoms or sucking on a beer bottle).
5. DUE JUNE 1: ALL FEES PAID:
Regardless of whether or not one intends to go to prom, school fees (which include library fees) must be settled by June 1. Please connect with the office if you have any questions or are experiencing financial hardships. Fees statements will be emailed out next week.
6. DUE JUNE 3: PROM DETAILS + FIELD TRIP FORM:
On June 8, the day will officially begin with a group photo on the stairs leading up to the Creekside Theatre at 4:00 PM SHARP! With that in mind, grads should aim to arrive at the school between 3:30 - 3:45 PM. Following the photo, grads will leave the school and head to the arena for their grad walk (organized by the parent committee). Buses will pick students up around 5:45 PM and take them to the Okanagan Golf Club where the party portion of prom will be held until students board the buses to return to the arena for 11:00 PM. A PDF with more detailed information – put together by the parent committee – has been attached to this email.
Additionally, every student planning to attend prom MUST return a signed field trip form to Ms. Marples in rm. 302 by June 3. Without the form, students cannot go on the bus, and cannot go to the prom venue. A detailed field trip form has been attached to the most recent email as a PDF. Physical copies can be found outside of rm. 302. Alternatively, you can print one off above, under the ‘DOCUMENTS’ tab.
ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Grad Council meetings are EVERY Tuesday morning at 7:30am in rm. 129. All Grade 12s are welcome.
- If any grade 12 is NOT a part of the 'CLP GRAD 2024' Google Classroom page, they MUST join ASAP. Code = 74ktw7p
Please email me at [email protected] if you have any questions.
Regards,
Lisa Marples
